ICC suspends Mohammad Hafeez from bowling in international cricket

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday said that the bowling action of Mohammad Hafeez was found to be illegal through an independent assessment.
The off-spinner has been suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect.
According to the assessment, the majority of Hafeez’s deliveries had exceeded the 15 degree level of tolerance which is permitted under regulations.
The international suspension imposed on Hafeez will be applicable and enforced by all National Cricket Federations for domestic cricket events played in their own jurisdiction in accordance with Article 11.1 of the ICC Illegal Bowling Regulations.
However, he will be permitted to bowl in domestic cricket with the consent of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) according to Article 11.5 of the Regulations.
Mohammad Hafeez underwent an assessment on November 1 in England after his bowling action was reported during the third One-Day International against Sri Lanka on October 18.
Hafeez can apply for a re-assessment after modifying his bowling action in accordance with clause 4.5 of the Regulations.
